How to Keep Your Eyes Healthy – Vision Care

How to keep your eyes healthy - Vision Care
This article will cover the various things you can do for total eye care. This ranges from sun protection to tips for the workplace.
Here a few things you can do:
See an eye specialist every 2 years. Eyes can deteriorate slowly over time and can be unnoticeable. Visiting eye specialists can be a way of measuring your eye's health. If your vision changes quickly you must see your eye doctor immediately.
Everybody knows how damaging the sun can be to skin. Well, the sun can also be damaging to the eye vision too. Over exposure to UV rays can cause you to have cataracts in later life. Cataracts are a build up of protein in the eye, which can cause vision to go cloudy. Cataracts can be removed by eye cataract surgery; however, prevention is better than treatment. When in the sun always wear sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat. Sun glasses can also protect your eyes from dust and dirt in your environment. Dirt and dust can create infections in your eye. These infections can also be threatening to your eye vision. Sun glasses can go towards your total eye care and keep you away from the eye surgeons.
Ensure you have a well balanced diet. Having a balanced diet is good for the body and the eyes. Any eye clinic should tell you to eat a balanced diet and make sure you get the right amount of anti-oxidants and Omega oils as this can reduce dry eye.
Overworking your eyes can be damaging and not very good for eyecare. Optometrists say you should vary the work on your eyes. Too long doing one task (staring at a computer) can be harmful. There are a few things you can do to look after your eyes when using a computer. First of all, every hour have a look away from your computer screen for at least 3 minutes. Vary the distances you look, look at the other end of the office and then out the window, then close up. If you feel you have dry eye; blink often. Optometrists recommend you to get a antireflective cover for your computer screen as this will prevent glare. Going to the eye clinic is recommended if your eyes are tired and irritated at the end of a day as you may need glasses/stronger glasses.
I hope these tips have been useful.
